The exhaust consists of a lightweight carbon fiber silencer shell, combined with stainless steel connecting pipes and manifolds and a titanium end cap to create a system that is 2.2 kg (31.0%) lighter than the standard system. The new design features a shorter silencer for a sportier look and exits from the side of the bike. The power output increases by 3.3 kW (4.5 hp) at 9,600 rpm in comparison between an MT-09 with a Racing Line (carbon) exhaust and a standard exhaust system. The sporty racing sound is perfectly matched to the engine. It is designed for use on race tracks and closed circuits.

The exhaust system is compatible with the Yamaha hard cases and accessories for the main stand.

When installing the Racing Line (Carbon) exhaust system, the engine control light will illuminate, therefore remapping of the ECU is required.
