This is how the factory riders start!
The Factory Start is mounted directly on the fork. Before the start, the fork is dipped and fixed at the desired location to shift the center of gravity forward. This largely prevents the front wheel from climbing when starting, which provides more traction and perhaps secures you the one or other holeshot. When diving in for the first time, the fixation is released again and the fork is automatically released again.
