Piston description

Athena, a leader in the manufacture of motorcycle spare parts for over 40 years, introduces its new range of 4-stroke cast pistons for the off-road sector. Manufactured using state-of-the-art CNC machining tools to ensure dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm, the pistons are made from a special high-performance aluminum alloy with a high silicon content that guarantees the same reliability as the OE pistons while offering greater resistance and excellent performance. Some pistons also feature a molybdenum disulphide coating, which is applied by screen printing and further reduces friction to improve performance and durability.
Athena engineers ensure advanced technical solutions and the highest quality standards that meet or exceed those of OE production to guarantee performance and reliability.
Each piston, developed in Italy by Athena's R&D department, is tested on engine test benches under progressive load and then on the race track to confirm its performance even under the most extreme conditions.

This piston for Athena Standard Bore cylinders is equipped with piston rings that guarantee less friction with the cylinder and therefore higher performance.
Athena takes care of the development of the pistons down to the smallest detail: the rings are manufactured in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase durability and service life. The rings adapt perfectly to the cylinder liner even under low tangential loads.
This piston set contains the piston, the pin, the circlips and the piston rings. All components are interchangeable and can be replaced if necessary.
